Content In Place
Content In Place is a project motivated by my continual movment between places. Initially growing up, between my parents houses, and more recently, between Chicago and Vermont. I found myself asking the question of what it means to be happy in a particular place, what it means to call something home. At the same time I was struggling with what it meant to make work in a place I had no familiarity too. I felt as though I was simply producing content with no understanding of why. Looking back I may be able to pick apart percisly why I made certain decisions, but at the time I felt as though I was stumbling around in the dark.
At some point somthing about these two questions clicked. I realized for the first time, how much the camera helped me process and understand the world and what I was feeling about it.
This book deals with the amount of content being produced to keep people content. It deals with home and the paradox of a new home. It asks why we must know emtyness to feel full.
