On The Impossibility Of A Unified Geodesy

On A Unified Geodesy is an interactive photo installation that emerged from an ongoing archaeological investigation of ancient stone carvings on my family's farm in Vermont. Through this installation, I critically examine how histories are created, manipulated, and understood.

These markings, which align with celestial events such as the solstice and equinox, reflect a profound connection between earthly landscapes and the cosmos. The site itself predates the canonized origins of mapping or timekeeping, prompting questions about the validity of what is often accepted as historical “fact.”
